Ukraine should continue to remain a transit country for Russian gas reaching the European Union in the future, a senior Commission official said.
“We need to avoid [Ukraine's isolation] by constructing all sorts of pipelines around it,” Stefan Moser, head of unit for security of supply in the European Commission’s DG Energy, said on 23 June at an event organised by the Egmont Institute and the Development Group.
