The European Parliament awaited the outcome of the legislative elections in Turkey, which saw the Conservative-Islamic Justice and Development Party (AKP) fail to win an absolute majority, before giving its views on the progress achieved by this country in 2014. The Commission expressed a positive opinion, on 8 October 2014, on decisions approved, legislation adopted and measures implemented last year by the government in Ankara.
