Lucile Bréhaut

EU Editorial Lead

I joined Contexte as Editorial Manager in Brussels in September 2023, after 10 years of political journalism in France. This decision was driven by my desire to explore European affairs more deeply, an area that is often outsourced to Paris.

I spent most of my professional career at Radio Classique, where, for seven years, I covered the left (from Jean-Luc Mélenchon to François Hollande), then Emmanuel Macron’s first mandate. Throughout this decade, I’ve moved between the French presidency, Hôtel Matignon and the Parliament, striving to understand from the inside how the public sphere is shaped and what drives it. I went on to present the Radio Classique morning news for four years, providing a wake-up call for discerning, inquisitive listeners.

I studied journalism at the Institute of Practical Journalism (IPJ-Dauphine) in Paris as part of a dual Master’s specialising in Radio and Economics. I also have a Master’s degree in European Studies from the Paris 3 Sorbonne-Nouvelle university.
