Arthur Bamas
After studying Information Sciences and History at Paris 2 and Paris 4, I worked as a trainee journalist at Socialter, Public Sénat and Mediacités Lyon. At these publications, I mainly covered French politics at both the national and local levels, but also the challenge of generational renewal in the agricultural sector. I then took a Master’s in “Datajournalism and investigation” at the Institute of Political Studies (Lyon) and the Graduate School of Journalism (CFJ by its acronym in French). During this course, I did my second year on a work-study programme within the Observateurs de France 24 editorial team. I was fortunate to extend this experience as a freelancer, focusing on fact-checking and social media research. In January 2023, I joined the Contexte team in Brussels, where I follow European agricultural and food policies. Over the past two years, I have focused on issues such as farmers' incomes, animal welfare, free trade agreements and preparing negotiations on the next Common Agricultural Policy.
